How To Be An Organised Host That Is Party Perfect

Being host to an event can be daunting, especially if you’re a first timer. Whether it’s a society night or an anniversary the same standard of organisation should be applied to ensure the special night runs as smoothly as possible.

How can you fully prepare for an event in advance? The key to planning is to write a list of all the things you need to cover. This should include the tiny last minute details, otherwise you run the risk of missing things out and having a late night panic the night before! With your list you can clearly see what has been ticked off and what is yet to be done, helping you stay on track the whole way through. Start from the top of the list and work your way down.

So what comes first? Many people start at the wrong stage, resulting in a domino effect for the rest of the production. Before anything you need to have a clear image of what you would like the final outcome to be. Then you can consider a theme or style.

Once you have worked out what type of event you are trying to create, make another list. This time list the guests you are looking to invite, then you can dig in and bring this party to life by choosing a venue. When searching for a venue, consider the capacity and whether it has all the functionalities you require. If you are looking at DJ & Disco equipment hire then this is also something to consider when looking at the venue. Some venues may even have an option or package deals for DJ & Disco equipment hire in-house, but don’t be afraid to shop around. Then slowly, step by step, tick off the other essentials such as decorations, invites, food and drinks.
